Can a house be cursed?

Our landlords told us the last guy that lived here was single with a daughter. My wife and I just moved to Houston from San Antonio this last march. In the middle of April my wife and I noticed a brick with a carving just outside the garage going up toward the front door. It was 2 women holding eachother crying and says "llanto" which in spanish means- crying, weeping. Other bricks on house are stamped -Mexico-. Anyways, on April 29th my wife hung herself in the garage!!! I am going CRAZY without her, I also lost my 2 step-kids to their dad and all I'm left with is my daughter!!! Can a house be CURSED????????? I don't know what to do
