How long does flaxseed have to cook to reduce possible poisoning? A few minutes, or more than that?

I just bought whole uncooked flaxseed thinking I would put some in my oatmeal before microwaving for two minutes, then found that raw flaxseed has something like poison in it which can cause death. I am concerned about that type of side effect. I read that two tsp per day was ok even if it is raw, but I have no problem cooking it. Just not sure if two min in microwave will be enough. Thanks.
